This is the moment alert RPF(Railway Protection Force) officials saved the life of a woman who was dragged by a running train in Khandwa of Madhya Pradesh in central India.

The CCTV footage shows a woman being dragged by the train after she had fallen from the train while alighting it.

Alert railway police officials sprang into action and held the lady and dragged her on to the platform.

As per the officials the woman had boarded the wrong train and by the time she realised it, the train had departed the station.

She tried to get down from the running train and her foot probably slipped off the footboard after which she was caught in the situation and was dragged several metres until spotted by the alert officials.

She had mistakenly boarded Delhi bound Mangla express instead of the one going to her destination which was opposite the train's direction.

She had sustained minor injuries and was discharged after first aid.
