A concerned mother elephant guided its calf while its herd invaded an agricultural field to raid the crops in eastern India's West Bengal on January 5.

The incident took place in the Murakati village, located in the Sankrail region of Paschim Medinipur district.

Visuals feature the herd of several elephants crossing over the agricultural fields. The jumbos walk in a queue and at their own speed. Within moments, as a calf struggles to keep up with the pace, its mother takes charge and ushers it out of the farm.

The elephants in the region often stray from their corridors due to lack of food and emerge in the farmlands to raid the crops.
