Heavy rains triggered a massive landslide in Negeri Sembilan state in Malaysia as the country is battered by severe floods.

Footage shows part of a mountain road covered in mud and rock debris in Jelebu district on January 2 after the adjacent formation collapsed.

Malaysia’s Department of Minerals and Geosciences said at least seven landslides, including one in Negri Sembilan, have been recorded at the start of the year, as a continuous downpour battered parts of the country.

Authorities said seven states in Malaysia were inundated with floods after heavy rainin recent days. At least 50 people have reportedly died, while two are still missing. Officials said more than 8,700 people have been evacuated to relief centres.
