A Thai restaurant uses robots to serve food to its customers while practising social distancing.

The Sailom Bang Pu Restaurant in Samut Prakan province has rolled out robots with touch screen LCD heads and wheels that allow them to move around.

The seafood eatery has an elaborate conveyor belt installed from the kitchen where the trays of food are passed onto the robots.

Once the meals are ready, staff take the food from the conveyor and arrange them for the robots which will take them to the dining customers' tables.

Footage shows plates of food and large bottles of soda being passed around the restaurant across the machines and robots while the customers waited.

The robots and conveyor system aims to reduce contact and enforce social distancing between workers and diners due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
