Women and children in several districts have to walk up to 10 kilometers to get water contaminated with mud for home consumption.
In Uganda, more than half of the population does not have access to clean water. The water that is available contains a huge amount of bacteria, so the population uses bottled water for drinking and hygiene.
However, access to it is limited, since often the delivery of such water to remote regions is difficult due to undeveloped infrastructure.
