A Joint meet with the Westerby Basset hounds and the Pipewell Foot Beagles. Because of the amount of hounds in each pack only half of the packs was used. The Westerby Basset breed of hound is the English Basset. The hunting country of this pack is Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Rutland. They are kennelled in the Leicestershire village of South Kilworth.
The meet was well attended by followers of both packs enjoying both the meet, meeting the Masters and the refreshments of warm mulled wine. The meet was held at Hill Top Farm, Oakham, in the county of Rutland, England, and hosted by William and Jane Cross, the owners of the farm.
After the meet the hounds were taken on a run for a couple of hours around some of the farm's fields and afterward everyone enjoyed an afternoon tea once the hounds had been re-boxed.
