Dramatic CCTV footage has emerged from China of a man hurling a meat cleaver at a car during a road rage incident.

In the footage, captured on a security camera at a crossroads in Shaanxi Province, the man can be seen leaning out of the window of an SUV and chucking the knife at another car.

According to news reports, the two cars had been in a chase from several streets away when the passenger threw out the weapon.

No injuries were reported.
