Even since the start of the pandemic in 2020, we have seen several videos of police brutality and crackdowns to tackle flouters. However, police in central India's Madhya Pradesh have taken a road less travelled while cautioning locals about the deadly disease during a campaign.

Visuals from Jabalpur city of the eponymous district, shot on January 11, showed traffic cops approaching commuters- who were travelling sans mask- with the facial protective gear. They also presented the individuals with a bottle of sanitiser spray, a rose, a packet of biscuits and a bar of chocolate.

Police carried out the drive under the "Mask lagao corona bhagao, helmet lagao jaan bachao" (Wear mask, drive away coronavirus. Wear a helmet to save your life" campaign. A slogan from the same read that you can argue with cops, but cannot do so with Yamaraja (the God of death).

Coronavirus cases have since rocketed in the country since the beginning of the new year. While a section of the population is taking precautions and following rules, a huge number is still reluctant, thus risking the lives of their own and people around them.
