Officials seize heroin capsules worth $10,04,657 in northern India

A woman from Uganda was arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle heroin worth over Rs. 7 crores (USD 9,46,483) in northern India's Delhi on January 11. The incident took place at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport.

Visuals feature the custom officials recovering several capsules of heroin, wrapped in a white adhesive cover. They further retrieve all the narcotic items from inside the woman's clothes in her baggage and seize them.

The passenger was stopped after she arrived from Entebbe in Uganda via Sharjah. Further, heroin weighing 1.06 kg (2.3 lbs), concealed in 107 capsules kept inside clothes in baggage were seized. Moreover, the passenger was arrested while the value of seized heroin was Rs. 7.43 crore (USD 10,04,657).
