Chinese fisherman saves young man from drowning in river
A fisherman rescued a young man drowning in a river in central China.
A heroic video filmed in the city of Xinyang in Henan Province on January 9 shows a young man struggling to get out of the water and a 69-year-old fisherman approaching the man.
The fisherman then tried to drag the young man onto the boat but failed. He then gave the pole to a woman on the shore to let her pull the young man holding the boat back to safety.
The fisherman reportedly heard a man shouting that someone fell into the river when he was fishing so he used his boat to approach the struggling man.
The fisherman left after police officers and paramedics arrived on site to take the young man to hospital in an ambulance.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
