A charge against former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been dropped after a London cyclist filmed him using his phone at the wheel of his car in April 2021.

The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed on Friday (January 14) that the case “has been stopped” and there are “no ongoing proceedings” involving the video that cyclist Mike van Erp captured.

Footage from April 27, 2021, shows Lampard holding his phone in one hand while clutching a coffee cup with the other as he was in traffic on Gloucester Road, South Kensington.

Van Erp cycles past Lampard’s vehicle before turning around and peering into his car where the football pundit is seen holding his phone in his left hand.

“Clearly talking and holding his phone and a coffee at the same time, what a dipstick,” Mike is heard saying.

The cyclist also told Newsflare: “It’s not a very good look to be driving like that.”

According to reports, Lampard hired Nick Freeman’s, known as “Mr Loophole”, firm to fight his case.
