Our Alaskan Malamute wants to know why she is so itchy and loosing all her fur in winter

Buy video

Never can understand why Alaskan Malamutes shed their entire fur at the start of winter when they need it most. Well I looked it up and they shed seasonally to prepare themselves to cope more efficiently, growing a thicker coat for winter. Spring shed will grow a lighter coat for the hot summer months. Sounds like we could benefit from that ability too in coping with seasonal changes. Sojou is very itchy happy to unload her summer fur . Very talkative Sojou is letting us know that she is enjoying a good body scratch. Her daughter Dotty wants in on it too.
