In South India, lifting heavy stones is a traditional way to find a soulmate. Back in the days, in some villages, this practice would determine the masculinity of a potential groom.

But in modern days, women are also actively participating in the hunt with stones weighing anywhere from 50 to 129 kg!

“Self-belief and confidence will make you able to lift it. You need to focus while lifting and cannot be thinking of anything else. You do not need any practice for this, just be fit and focused.” says a participant Thangaraj who won the first prize by lifting the 129 kg stone.
