Torrential rains lashed the Tamilnadu state for a few weeks. In the midst of increasing havoc due to the floods in the state people got scared also of the erosion caused by the swollen rivers. The rising Palar river and the speedy flow of water has caused erosion at several places in the region forcing people inhabiting the place for a long time to migrate to safer places.
A resident of Kamarajapuram village evacuated the house according to the directions of the government officials. As soon as he evacuated the house the building was completely engulfed by the aggressive river. No deaths reported as the residents evacuated earlier.
