Locals in Katihar, Bihar, flocked to get a glimpse of a baby that was born with four arms and legs.

Footage from January 17 shows the infant, whose gender is yet to be revealed, lying in their mother's lap at Sadar Hospital.

Locals believe the child is an incarnation of a god but doctors say that the baby was born this way due to a pregnancy complication.

One of the doctors said: "Our further plans include conducting a detailed diagnosis of the baby to figure out the proportion in which the conjoined twins are attached.

"It can be possible that they share a heart or other organs, in which case we won't be able to operate.

"Following that, we'll conduct a separation surgery, if possible. Moreover, it will only be possible to tell whether the infant would survive or not after the results come in."

A woman gave birth to a child with four legs and arms, ensuing curiosity among the locals in eastern India's Bihar on January 17.

The incident took place at the Sadar Hospital, located in Katihar.

Visuals feature the child lying in a basket full of colorful sheets. A crowd of curious onlookers stands around the newborn while the unique child rests amid them with four arms and legs.
