Chinese woman threatened by 'company employee' after finding plastic in soup packet
A woman was threatened by someone claiming to be a company employee after posting a video of the plastic strapping she found in a hot pot soup packet in China.
Video filmed in the city of Bazhong in Sichuan Province on January 15 shows the plastic strapping being found inside a pack of hot pot soup base.
After the woman named Jiang posted the video on the internet and someone claiming to be an employee at the hot pot soup maker contacted Jiang to ask her to delete the clip and even threatened her.
The hot pot soup base company named Chongqing Cygnet Baifu Food Co., Ltd. issued an announcement that they have contacted Jiang to verify the case as well as reported it to the police to check the person who pretended to be their employee.
The company's founder named He Yongzhi said the product with a foreign body inside has been sealed and sent to the third party for testing.
The company also decided to compensate the customer first and they have reached an agreement with the customer to compensate 2,400 yuan (£278.12).
