Woman rescues injured stray dog trapped in ice on road in China
A woman rescued an injured stray dog trapped on an icy road in northern China.
Video captured in the city of Qiqihar in Heilongjiang Province on January 17 shows an injured dog getting stuck on an icy road and a woman named Zhang attempting to put an Elizabethan collar on it to rescue it.
The scared dog attempted to run away when Zhang tried to approach it.
She then used a shovel to free the dog's tail which got stuck on the icy road first before finally putting the collar on it successfully.
After around an hour, the dog was saved and sent to a vet.
According to reports, Zhang kept rescuing stray animals for 13 years already. When she heard that the stray dog got trapped on an icy road, she went on site with a shovel to rescue it.
The dog reportedly had an accident, causing it to be incontinent of urine and then froze to the road.
Zhang said the dog's head, eyes and butt all had blood and it could not stand up. It is still being treated.
