These devotees plunged their hands into boiling water to pick out lentil snacks during a ritual in Thiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu.

Footage from January 18 shows the men placing their hands into the boiling liquid without flinching or suffering injuries.

Devotees plunge their hands into hot boiling oil and pluck out lentil snacks to prove their faith in South India.

Location: Chengam, Thiruvannamalai district of Tamilnadu in South India.

 Devotees at Muthalaman temple dip their hands into a vessel full of ‘boiling oil’ and take out fried Vada (a lentil snack) from it. Those who dip their hands in the boiling oil have not faced any problem like burning sensation or injuries on their hands.
"I asked for some blessings from Lord Murugan; he granted what I asked for. Therefore I vowed for the ritual and did it. I have not had any burning sensation or injuries on my hand. I feel good after performing this ritual" says a devotee who performed this ritual.
