Careless drivers and reckless riders jangle nerves in dashcam footage filmed in Taiwan.

On one incident, in Longtan District of Taoyuan City, Taipei, on 27 November 2021, the driver of a dark Toyota gingerly noses out across a back-street junction where their view is blocked by a building on a corner.

At that moment a blue vehicle comes racing down the road, without slowing down for the junction, where the smaller Toyota vehicle collides with it.

In another video, filmed on 23 November 2021, a moped rider attempts a u-turn on a busy, wet road at night in Wanhua District, New Taipei City.

But he appears not to check whether there are any cars coming the other way first, and if it wasn't for the quick thinking of the driver of the car with the dashcam, the moped rider could have been seriously hurt.

The Toyota driver's vision was being blocked by the corner and they didn’t see this blue vehicle coming down the road. As a result, this led to both drivers crashing into each other.

Why did this moped rider think it was a good idea to attempt a u-turn? If it wasn't for the quick thinking of this driver, the rider of the moped could have been seriously hurt. Hopefully in the future he will be more cautious and attempt such maneuvers safely.
