Thousands of spectators turned out in a town in southern India on January 17 to watch eighty bulls race through the streets.

The event, which sees drivers pulled along on carts by teams of two bulls, takes place during the popular harvest festival.

According to the filmer, the competing bulls are trained all year and fed a special diet to prepare them for the race.

Besides being raised on a highly nutritious diet, Race bulls get a lot of fitness training, like Bull taming sport bulls. You have to monitor the bulls all the time. A bull cannot participate in the race if it gets overweight. Before being selected, bulls are checked for various parameters—the chin should be small and sharp, eyes should be large and the skin shouldn’t be very thick.

80 pairs of Bulls got selected after a long selection process that has various parameters.

The bullocks that heads first to the finish line is considered as the winner and they owner of the bulls will be rewarded prizes.
