A commuter in eastern India came incredibly close to falling beneath the wheels of a moving train on Thursday (January 20) after he slipped into the gap between a carriage and the station platform.

Security camera footage captured at Ranchi Junction railway station in Jharkhand showed the commuter losing his footing while attempting to board the moving train with a large case.

Kirti Khujur and Sardha Chowdhry from the Railway Protection Force spotted the man being dragged along by the locomotive and managed to pull him back onto the station platform.

Life flashed before a man's eye after he almost slipped under a moving train while boarding it in eastern India's Jharkhand on January 20. The incident took place at the Ranchi Junction Railway station

Visuals feature the man trying to board the moving locomotive. However, he loses balance, and his leg slips into the gap between the platform and the train. Luckily, as he gets dragged along the locomotive, the alert RPF officials spot him and rush to his aid, saving him.

Vigilant Railway Protection Force (RPF) officials Kirti Khujur and Sardha Chowdhry noticed the man just in time and pulled him to safety, averting a major tragedy.
