Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters joined a rally opposite the Israeli Embassy in London (January 21), standing in solidarity with Palestinians, as this week saw a family being evicted from their Sheikh Jarrah home in East Jerusalem - a house they had occupied since 1950.

The demonstrators also wanted to keep Palestinian issues in the public eye after a tens of thousands attended last year's protests in London over the Sheikh Jarrah evictions and land grabs.

Protesters were seen unfurling a giant Palestinian flag and stretching it across the road as police struggled to push the group back onto the pavement. The group then decided to march off in the road with the flag towards Edgware Road, escorted by police officers.
