'This was the life-affirming moment a California man caught his girlfriend off-guard with a surprise wedding proposal.

The guy, named Clayton, waits for his partner, Meghan to open a champagne bottle and once she does, he gets down on his knee to pop the question.

Meghan's heartwarming reaction makes it clear that she had been looking forward to the said moment for a long time. She can be seen jumping and screaming in excitement, all the while questioning, "IS THIS REAL?!"

"Clayton and I had been in quarantine for six weeks starting from March 2020," the wife-to-be said. "Once we were able to go out again, he brought home a picnic basket and told me that we were going on a fancy picnic date.

"He drove me up highway 1 to Big Sur where we stopped to have lunch. He posted up my phone to take a photo but it turned out to be a video. It was the best day of our lives."
