A train was set alight during a railway protest in Arrah, Bihar, on January 25.

Footage shows the train carriage in flames as protesters turned to violent measures.

According to reports, the train driver managed to escape the carriage.

In Bihar RRB-NTPC Students protesting against the result and Group D examination of CBT-2 set fire to the engine of a passenger train in Arrah. Students set the engine of the Sasaram-Ara passenger parked near the western Gumti of Ara station on fire as the track was blocked. After which the loco pilot of the engine somehow saved his life by jumping. Due to the promptness of Loco Pilot Ravi Kumar, no other bogie was damaged by the fire. But the fire burnt down the entire interior of the engine.

In fact, alleging change in the pattern of NTPC examination and rigging in the results, angry students protested in Ara on Tuesday and blocked the railway track. The track got disrupted due to the performance. After this the Sasaram-Ara passenger was stopped near Outer. But the protesters also reached here and set fire to the engine of the passenger train. After this the fire started burning and engulfed the entire engine. The loco pilot on the engine saved his life by jumping off the train. Also, somehow overcoming the fire, did not allow the fire to reach the bogie from the engine and saved the entire train from burning.
