Palestinian children played in the snow today (January 27) in the West Bank city of Hebron after a blizzard a day earlier turned the region white.

STORYLINE:

The low pressure is set to continue to affect the region today, paving the way to cloudy, stormy and unseasonably very cold conditions and causing temperature to plummet to 9°C below the seasonal average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Occasional rain showers, possibly torrential, along with thunderstorms and hail are expected on most districts. Chance of snow is expected on mountain peaks at an altitude of +700 meters above sea level in the dawn and early morning hours. Snow flurries are expected on mountains at an altitude of +1000 meters above sea level.

Active southwesterly to westerly wind blows in daytime with occasional gusts of 70 km/h, while moderate to active southwesterly wind blows in the night. Sea waves are high in daytime and medium in the night.
