Police in Indonesia, Arrest 11 Suspects of Deadly Brawl and Night Club Burning That Caused 18 Deaths

The Indonesian police have arrested 11 suspects who were directly involved in the deadly brawl between two ethnic groups and the burning of a nightclub building that left 18 people dead and two seriously injured in Sorong City, West Papua. This bloody incident occurred on Monday (24/1/2022) last weekend.
Apart from arresting the suspects. The police also secured dozens of pieces of evidence in the form of sharp weapons and a number of Molotov cocktails.
The West Papua Police Chief, Inspector General of Police, Tornagogo Sihombing said that after the incident his party immediately carried out an investigation and development of the case and succeeded in arresting eleven suspects in the deadly brawl and burning of the nightclub building which left eighteen people dead.
Previously, two people were arrested on January 27, 2022. Both were involved in a deadly brawl that resulted in the death of one person. The youth's death triggered the crowd to carry out anarchic actions and carry out attacks and arson against the nightclub building which caused seventeen workers and nightclub guests.
"In the case of a murder in a brawl between these two tribal groups, we have arrested developments, where on January 27, 2022, we have arrested two suspects with the initials EL and the second with the initials L." The West Papuan Police Chief, Inspector General of Police, Tornagogo Sihombing told reporters at the Sorong City Police Station, Saturday (29/1/2022).
Furthermore, according to Tornagogo, the Police continue to develop an investigation into the case of the nightclub building burning which was triggered by the revenge action of the groups involved in the dispute. The Police, led by the Director of General Crimes at the West Papua Regional Police, finally managed to arrest the nine perpetrators of the arson. The nine perpetrators were arrested in several different places. From the results of the police investigation, the nine perpetrators had different roles in the deadly brawl that led to the burning of the nightclub building which left eighteen people dead.
Tornagogo said that from the results of the investigation, all the perpetrators had been named suspects and charged with a minimum sentence of ten years in prison and a maximum of life in prison.
In addition to arresting eleven perpetrators of the Death Brawl. According to Tornagogo, the police are still pursuing eight other perpetrators who have now been designated on the People's Wanted List where these perpetrators are strongly suspected of acting as provocateurs in the incident.

The brawl of two ethnic groups from Maluku at the Night Club in the city of Sorong, on Monday (24/1/2022) was triggered by a fight between a nightclub guest and several people who were suspected of working at the nightclub. This incident had a long tail which culminated in a deadly brawl and the burning of a nightclub building in the city.
In that incident, in addition to killing eighteen people, also injured two employees and guests of the nightclub. Two cars were burned by the mob and a police car was damaged by the mob.
