The roof of a passenger bus was ripped off after it drove under a low flyover in Indonesia.

The driver, 33-year-old Manalu, had reportedly become lost while driving from Bukittinggi City into Padang Panjang City in West Sumatra on January 30. He was allegedly speeding on the road and did not see the flyover, which had a vertical clearance of 2.2 metres.

Footage shows the vehicle's roof cleanly torn off after driving under the Simpang Lapan flyover, while the passenger's seats remained intact.

Police reported no casualties caused by the accident. Meanwhile, the driver and 17 other passengers who suffered minor injuries have been taken to the hospital.

Commissioner Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, West Sumatra Police Public Relations Head, said: 'The road can only be passed by vehicles with a maximum height of 2.2 meters.

'This happened because the driver did not pay attention to traffic signs. We urge motorists to be careful so that accidents like this don't happen again.'
