'Ghost' accommodation vessel ends 'up a creek' after drifting in high winds off Kent, UK
A 'ghost' (unused) accommodation barge/ship broke free from its mooring near Riverside Country park on the Medway estuary in Kent, UK this morning (January 31) during high winds.
The large unmanned vessel drifted down river and ended 'up a creek without an engine' after coming to rest on a mud bank in Lower Halstow creek near Sittingbourne.
Multiple 999 calls were received by the Coastguard from concerned members of the public who had spotted the vessel out of control.
Footage shows the stranded barge on the mud bank at low tide this evening.
