Tony Vera, the Venice Owl, brings us another fascinating insight into the day-to-day life inside Los Angeles, and here at a shopping center in world-famous Venice Beach, Vera shows a fascinating new tactic deployed by LAPD.

These ghost cars are hollowed out, removing police radios and other equipment and left without an officer in or nearby. The empty vehicle hopes to ward off criminals akin to a scarecrow, just by mere presence. Vera, however, feels crooks are onto the new tactics and cops need to switch up their deterrent tactics.
