This is the hilarious moment a gospel-loving owl bopped its head along with a church choir in the Dominican Republic.

The nocturnal bird perched on the wooden beams of the building during singing rehearsals while getting into the groove with followers below in Punta Cana, Bavaro on September 5.

When the Christian choir began recitals, the feathered worshipper started moving its head to the beat of the music. It appeared the creature was feeling the vibe of the religious songs being sung in Spanish on the ground below.

Amazed church-goer Eduardo Romero Ortiz said: 'I was impressed because the owl looked like he wanted to sing the praises of Jesus. He was enjoying every piece of music.'

More delighted worshippers joined in the singing while others were playing percussion instruments to go with the songs. The owl is said to have stayed for almost an hour before flying out.

Eduardo added: 'This was an amazing sign in the church.'
