Indian firefighters caught a cat on January 29 after it fell 75-feet from a tree in western India.

According to reports, the feline was in a fight with another cat in the city of Pune and ran up the 100-foot tree to escape but then couldn't get down and became stuck.

Firefighters arrived and attempted to catch the stricken pet with a long snare while another team stood beneath the tree with sheets in case the animal fell.

The tabby immediately became spooked by the approaching snare and tried to climb down the tree but lost its grip and plummeted to the ground where the waiting rescuers caught it in the sheet.

Footage showed the cat immediately running away, apparently unharmed by the ordeal.

This was the heartwarming moment a team of fire brigade personnel caught a cat falling from a tall tree and saved its life.

A cat got into a fight with another cat in a neighborhood in Pune in western India on January 29. After losing the ferocious battle it ran up an over 100-feet tall tree to save itself from further trouble.

While the cat had managed to climb the imposing tree in panic, it found that coming down was not easy and stayed put at a height of nearly 75-feet for three days.

The worried residents of the area called for professional help to bring the cat down on February 1.

A team of fire brigade personnel went up an apartment’s balcony and tried to catch the cat with the help of a long snare.

Fearing that the cat may slip, another team stood on the ground holding bed sheets to cushion the fall.

Spooked by the approaching snare, the cat made a desperate bid to climb down and lost its grip. It went tumbling down and fell on the bedsheet held by the rescuers and ran away without a scratch on its body.

Rescuer Saidas Kusal, who was part of the ground crew, said: “The cat was lucky. It fell on the edge of the bed sheet and still survived without any injury.”
