A 20-year-old elephant undergoing treatment succumbed to its injuries in northeastern India's Assam on February 3.

The incident took place in the forest cover of the Nambor - Doigrung Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the Golaghat district.

Visuals feature the elephant lying lifelessly on the ground amid the forest cover. Before that, the forest officials treat the ailing jumbo by injecting medicines and tending to it.

The elephant was hurt for three days, following which the forest officials treated it. However, the jumbo succumbed to its injuries amid the treatment.
