To celebrate the Lunar New Year in Vietnam, people often buy fruits to decorate their houses and hope for a new year of luck and fortune. During this year's Lunar New Year, people have been hunting for unique coconuts inlaid with gold instead of painted coconuts like in previous years. The coconuts are gold-plated by the goldsmiths on the outside. Then decorate with more letters and patterns.
The coconuts are pre-ordered by customers and are always out of stock. Gold is rolled very thinly and then inlaid on the outside of the coconut. Depending on the amount of gold inlaid outside, the price of coconuts ranges from 25 USD to 100 USD.
According to the goldsmith he and other workers made more than 20,000 gold-plated coconuts during the Lunar New Year according to customers' orders.
