Two giant washing machines are used to serve 7,000 people during the 2022 Winter Olympics in China.

Video filmed in the city of Beijing on February 1 shows two 2-metre-wide and 3-tonne washing machines being used to clean clothes at Beijing National Indoor Stadium.

According to reports, the capacity of the "Big Mac" washing machine is 100 kilograms which is equal to ten household washing machines.

The two washing machines and three 1-tonne dryers will be used to serve nearly 7,000 people at the ice hockey events during the Winter Olympics.

The washing machine can hold 100 jackets in one go. It also has an automatic cleaning function which can ensure that no bacteria will be bred on the clothes.

Ma Lingnan, head of the laundry service at the national stadium said, the volunteers will tie the ice hockey athletes' clothes into bundles and send them to the laundry room after each match or training.

The service is only available at Beijing National Indoor Stadium and Wukesong Arena, where ice hockey matches are held.
