According to local people, on the the Lunar New Year. People will hold a fire dance festival with thanksgiving to the gods after a year of blessing the villagers with a year of good crops, favorable farming, and healthy people without sickness. Participants in the fire dance will take turns jumping into the embers, using both hands and bare feet to touch the fire and embers until the fire burns out. The fire will help bring warmth, celebrate a crop harvest that has just ended and pray to the gods to bless health and prosperity as well as banish evil spirits and diseases in the new year.
