A rare black tiger was spotted in the forest cover of eastern India's state Odisha, bathing in a jungle pool.

The video shot in September 2021 was filmed in the Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar.

Black tigers are not entirely black but their black stripes are unusually close so that there is less orange background and they appear ‘black.’

A rare black tiger was spotted in the forest cover of eastern India's Odisha, astonishing several onlookers.

Visuals shot in September 2021 feature the unique tiger bathing in a pool located in the Nandankanan Zoological Park, located in Bhubaneswar.

The footage features the tiger bathing in a pool. The unique big cat rests inside the water body and occasionally yawns. Later, as it gets out of the water, the drenched black stripes on its body glisten.

According to reports, these black tigers have been sighted only in Odisha. Moreover, their distinctive appearance stems out of genetic mutations called pseudo-melanism, often making their pelt look entirely dark.

Out for a wildlife photography session, Satya Swagat (23) spotted the tiger and captured the magnificent big cat that left him awestruck.
