At night time Chelsea Bridge turns into a spectaculalr illuminated artwork. Current bridge was opened in 1937 by Canadian Prime Minister Mackenzie King in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The originall bridge called Victoria Bridge was built in 1858. It is one of the bridge to be included in the 'Illuminated River' project across the river Thames.
Albert Bridge goes back to the 19th century. The bridge’s many cables are covered with some 4,000 lamps so that at night the bridge is bathed in light. It is also to become part of the 'Illuminated River' project by American artist Leo Villareal.
