A Thai street food vendor cooks delicious coconut rice pancakes to sell at his stall in Bangkok.

The snack, known locally as 'khanom khrok', is prepared with a half-sphere shaped mould that is first brushed with oil. The cook then scoops about a cupful of batter made with coconut milk, sugar, and rice flour and pours it over the hot pan before filling in the circular indents with more batter.

A variety of colourful fillings - such as shredded coconut, corn, and even cilantro and green onions - are added to make the snack tastier.

When the edges are golden brown and crispy but the centre is still slightly soft, the dough is removed from the mould and placed on a wire rack. Each stuffed pancake is cut out using a pair of scissors and served in plastic-covered takeaway boxes.

Khanom khrok pancakes are a traditional sweet snack that can be bought in any market in Thailand for around 20 THB (0.60 USD).
