Kind driver rescues dog stranded on busy highway and reunites her with her owner
This is the heartwarming moment a kind driver rescued a pet dog stranded on a busy highway and reunited her with her owner.
Rodaryl Geronimo was driving to work in Makati City in Manila, the Philippines on January 27 when he spotted the pooch trapped on the side of the road while cars sped by.
Dashcam video shows Rodaryl stopping his car in the middle of traffic to carry the trembling dog to safety. Another motorist was seen approaching to help since the mutt appeared too terrified to move from her spot.
After about a minute of coaxing, the injured dog named Patty allowed herself to be carried into the vehicle. Rodaryl said: 'She had a limp and had difficulty walking, probably because she was too tired and hungry. I took her to my house and fed her.
'I don't know how she got there. She might have crossed the road or she might have fallen from a car.'
Rodaryl added that Patty's owner contacted him a few days later to retrieve her dog after seeing his post on social media.
Patty was happily reunited with her fur mom, and she will be taken to a veterinarian to get treated for her injuries.
Rodaryl said: 'I'm glad I was able to save her and give her shelter, even if only for a short time.'
