A man who was trapped in a cleft in the cliff face of a remote hill in southern India was finally rescued on Wednesday 9 February.

The young man, R Babu, was rescued near Malampuzha in Kerala's Palakk, by the Sourthern command of Indian Army.

Video showed him kissing officers involved.

Later they chant: 'Long Live India'.

A 23-year-old youth went out for a trek with his friends on Monday 7 February when he fell and became trapped in the cavity of the hill's steep face.

He injured himself in the fall and has been airlifted to hospital.

Almost after 40 hours, R Babu, who was trapped in the cleft of a remote hill near Malampuzha in Kerala's Palakk has been resuced by the Sourthern command of Indian Army.
