Dramatic police chase ends in crash and arrest in Houston, Texas
A dramatic police chase was captured on camera in the early hours of Wednesday 9 February in Houston, Texas.
The suspect behind the wheel of the car being chased was transported to the hospital after crashing his truck into a fence at the end of a pursuit. The pursuit started for unknown reasons near Little York.
In the incident, which began at around 12:30am, the suspect reached over 100 mph (161 km/h) on the freeway before a Constable was able to spike-strip (put a strip of spikes in the road to burst tyres) the vehicle.
After this he turned onto 10 east and exited Waco, where he lost his tires. He then drove to Amarillo and turned south, crashing at Amarillo and Harris where he was stopped by a police K9 (dog) unit.
The suspect complied and was taken into custody. A spit hood (a breathable bag, designed to stop the suspect spitting or biting others) was put on him until other emergency services arrived.
