Rafflesia flowers bloom in the forest of Saniangbaka village, X Koto Singkarak district, Solok regency, West Sumatra province, Wednesday, February 9, 2022.

There are four bulbs of these flower seeds and some of them are already blooming in the rainforest of Barisan Wildlife Sanctuary, Indonesia. The location is very far from community facilities.

Rafflesia Arnoldii is the scientific term, the flower is among the largest in the world and only blooms for a few days before wilting and dying.

The flowers are not easy to find, even experts call the plant a parasitic plant. It has no visible stems, roots, or leaves, but has filaments that absorb nutrients from its host plant.

Many people nickname it the water lily because it gives off an odour reminiscent of rotting flesh and attracts insects to pollinate it.
