Palestinians carry body of Mohamad Saleh, killed by Israeli forces in clashes during demolition operation in West Bank
Palestinians carried the body of Mohamad Saleh, 17, after he was killed by Israeli forces during clashes in the West Bank village of Al Yamun, near Jenin.
The clashes happened after midnight on Monday 14 February during a major Israeli military operation to destroy the home of a Palestinian terror suspect Mahmoud Jaradat.
Israel routinely destroys the homes of those suspected of fatal terror crimes, even before conviction, in a policy condemned by rights groups as collective punishment.
Saleh was killed by Israeli gunfire during a major military raid into the village of Silat al-Harithiya in the West Bank city of Jenin. Twenty others were injured.
The Ministry of Health said he died after being shot in the head.
The director of the ambulance service in Jenin, Mahmoud Al-Saadi, claimed that the Israeli forces prevented ambulances from entering the area to treat and transport the injured.
A correspondent for local news agency WAFA reported there were many more injuries from the use of tear gas during the confrontations.
Israeli forces began the operation by storming the town of Al-Silah Al-Harithiya and closing all roads leading to it, before destroying the home of prisoner Mahmoud Jaradat.
