Motherly pet cat sits on chicken eggs 'to keep them warm'
A motherly pet cat was seen sitting on chicken eggs 'to keep them warm.'
Footage shows the four-year-old calico cat named Nong Kang warming the neighbour's chicken eggs on a potted plant in Phang Nga province, Thailand on February 7.
Pet owner Karnjana Chantana, 34, said she was wondering why the cat would hang out by the plants so she followed her before discovering the bizarre scene.
She said: 'When I noticed that she had been hanging out by plants, I followed her to see what she was doing. I was checking if the plant had been damaged and saw she was keeping the eggs.
'I have 15 cats at home and none would behave like Nong Kang. She has always been more soft and calm than the other cats.'
Karnjana later found that the eggs belonged to her neighbour’s chicken. Her pet cat would always climb and sit on the pot whenever the hen was not around.
She said: 'Nong Kang continued to climb on the pot even when the hen laid more eggs. When she walks out of the shop, the eggs are the first thing she looks for.’
