A landslip in a hilly part of Indonesia has resulted in the destruction of nearly 100 homes.

Footage filmed in Dermasuci-Tegal Village, Central Java Province, on Sunday 13 February, shows roads split and homes damaged and destroyed.

The disaster, triggered by continuous heavy rain over the preceding two days, collapsed six homes and made many more uninhabitable.

Local resident Rudi said his house is now prone to collapse and is not safe to live in. "It happened at night when our family was at home. The floor uncovered, the room walls broken, so we all fled.".

The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) noted that the area was also prone to landslides due to steep rock slopes.
