A driver miraculously survived after skidding on a bend and smashing into an electricity post in Thailand.

CCTV video footage shows the pickup truck losing control on a road curve before slamming into the concrete pole in Uthai Thani province on January 5.

The post collapsed from the strong impact and hung on powerlines but the driver reportedly survived with minor injuries.

Locals called the emergency respondents for help and took the driver to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Resident Khun Apiwat said: 'This road is very dangerous. In a month, there were at least ten accidents happening here.'

Authorities have been alerted by locals about asking to do something about the safety on the stretch of road.
