Crane boom collapses while loading a truck in Taiwan
An unbalanced crane boom collapsed and fell onto a truck while it was loading items on a construction site in Taiwan.
CCTV footage from Taoyuan MRT green line construction shows the steel formwork smashing straight on the vehicle in Luzhu district, Taoyuan city on February 9.
The object fell after the boom was stretched too far causing the crane to lose its balance. There was no traffic at the time of the accident and no injuries have been reported.
The project section has been ordered to stop as the accident has been caused by the contractor’s negligence. Road users were directed to use an alternate route.
