This is the shocking moment an airport roof collapsed in front of terrified passengers in Indonesia.

The ceiling near a boarding gate of Soekarno-Hatta Airport - one of the main airports in the capital Jakarta - had a leak after a heavy downpour or rain battered the area on February 9.

It eventually gave way and water plunged through the structure after the thunderstorm had pounded for almost half an hour.

No one was reported hurt in the incident and the airport staff cordoned off the area while they repaired the roof. Flights were reportedly been unaffected by the collapse.

Airport spokesman Kholik Muwardi said: 'The damage happened in the afternoon when it was raining very hard accompanied by strong winds.

'That day the team immediately repaired it. We have also inspected the area to ensure that it would not happen again during extreme weather.'
