London’s South Bank area was evacuated due to an unattended package deemed suspicious by police.

Waterloo station was evacuated while the roads around it and several bridges across the River Thames were closed.

Waterloo Bridge, Westminster Bridge and the Hungerford and Golden Jubilee footbridges were shut.

The station, roads and bridges were then reopened after the package was declared non-suspicious by the Metropolitan Police.
