A kind fisherwoman rescued a tired eagle that was seen drowning in the sea.

Sunee Ongsara spotted the bird of prey struggling to stay afloat in the water near Koh Tarutao island in Satun province, southern Thailand on February 9.

She paddled over then reached towards the bird with a bamboo stick. Footage shows how she scooped up the eagle, which sat on the side of the wooden long-tail boat while its feathers dried off. The eagle flew back to the sky after resting.

Sunee said: 'I think the bird was feeling tired so I rescued it. I catch fish every day in the water but I've never seen an eagle here before. It was too big to fly out of the water.'
